Previous colon cancer.
Initial Diagnosis and Management
Previous history of colon cancer. (For rectal cancer, please see rectal cancer pathway (coming soon)).
Ongoing Management and Objectives
- Following patients with CEA is controversial, and in general is NOT recommended.
- Hemoccults are likewise NOT recommended between colonoscopies.
Indications for Specialty Care Referral
Colonoscopy one year after partial colectomy (or ASAP if no clearing colonoscopy done preoperatively), then per adenomatous polyp protocol.
Criteria for Return to Primary Care
Completion of colonoscopy.
