Making Connections
When we started connecting people to healthcare in March of 2008, little did we know that those first four clients would be the start of something so big. We were a small staff sharing a very small space, with a small budget, serving as the facilitator for several county Project Access programs. We started with four clients.
Now we are a regional, collaborative effort enrolling more than 3,000 clients a year.
As we have evolved, we have made many new connections along the way. After all, that is what we do, right? Even the name of our signature annual celebration, Bridges to Healthcare, recognizes the connections we have made.
You Can Help Us Make More Connections
Our recent partnership with Cartlandia got us thinking. Then came the Texas Hold ‘em Tournament, which got us thinking some more. And when award-winning singer-songrwriter Ilene Safyen decided to lend her vocal talents in a benefit concert, we knew we had the makings of an exciting new way to make more community connections that will help us connect people to the healthcare they need.
Ta da! We are happy to announce our “Community Connections” program!
If you are planning a block party, picnic, holiday party, or perhaps know someone who owns a restaurant or other business, why not consider having a benefit for Project Access NOW? If it’s happening anyway, most of the work is already done.
Project Access NOW will provide you with materials and support to make everything go smoothly with very little effort on your part. Through a continuing series of individual and corporate-hosted events, we will make new friends, find new avenues for support and, most importantly, continue our work to find ways to connect more low-income, uninsured members of our community to needed healthcare.
If you have a suggestion for an event or would like to learn more, email debbie@projectaccessnow.org or call Debbie at 503-413-5561. We’d love to help you help us!
